I've been watching our society devolve into feudalism for decades and I've long held it as an inevitability. Mankind has always had an authoritarian bent. Tribal chiefs became kings and kings became gods. It may take a few generations before the old titles are re-worn, but I'm certain we will get there. Resistance will be futile.

The masses are easily manipulated. Case in point, the Virginia Gubernatorial election. A MAGA candidate running on a non-existent issue, while publically advocating to undo the progress of decades, enjoyed by the very people he'll govern, wins. He touched on fear and easily manipulated the Virginia electorate.

Humans are easily manipulated, easily frightened, and in the digital age, more so than ever, easily misdirected.

With a substantial number of armed sociopaths, police, and soldiers willing to compromise their ethics to protect their families, there will be no successful uprising; in fact, the proliferation of "pitchforks" will be used by the ignorant masses on behalf of their overlords to save America from the dreaded socialism.

Communities of independent people will be regarded as a threat and easily destroyed.

In the end, it will capitulate or die.

Glad I'm old. Wish I never had a kid who will have to live in such a world.
